There are three permanent galleries: Modern History, story of the European settlement; First Peoples, pre-contact and post-contact; and Natural History, mainly oceans, large animals, and climate. The hotels in Victoria which I stayed were cheap and very beautiful. It is one of the best interactive natural history museums that I have ever visited. Whether you want to know about the history of the area, the first nation people, or the geological history, this world-class museum has it all just is sure to allow yourself enough time to do it justice; it is time well spent. We took a short tour of the old town area in the museum with a docent and that added a lot to our experience.
